John Pipers Technical Trader - Review
I say tipsheet in quotes, because to be fair it’s really much more than that. It’s a twice-monthly technical analysis and trading newsletter; the trading advice is but a part of the content.
Each issue starts with a summary of all the major markets – FTSE, S&P, Dax, Nikkei, Bonds, Gilts, and Gold. There is some quality TA going on here, with nicely marked up charts.
TTT then goes on to discuss certain markets in more detail, looking at Elliott Wave and Gann patterns – again – well marked up charts are included.
The “From The Traders Desk” section looks at general trading topics, and always has some useful advice. John Piper has been doing this for more than 16 years now; when anyone who has been trading successfully for that long has something to say, it’s usually worth listening to!
Other features include interviews with guest traders, commentary on other important markets (for example, oil is pertinent right now), and of course, plenty of advice.
TTT has been going for over 16 years, and now it’s been made available as an online subscription, delivered in PDF format so it can be read on any PC or Mac. The additional format makes the newsletter cheaper to receive, and so I reckon it’s a bit of a bargain. A 3 Month subscription is only $69, and with the 3 month money back guarantee you can effectively try it out for free.
Summary: For me, the real value in The Technical Trader is its educational aspect. Sure there are some great tips in there every two weeks, and they will make money, but reading the commentary of John Piper has got to be one of the best ways to improve TA and trading skills.
